Francisco Maraver Eyzaguirre: institutionalized relations

Francisco Maraver Eyzaguirre, Professor of Medical Hydrology since 1987, is Director of the Professional School of Medical Hydrology and Hydrotherapy since 2000. Since 1981, through his daily work and teaching he has trained researchers (directing more than seventy academic papers) and medical specialists. He has undertaken the adjustment of the school to the European higher education standards and incorporated undergraduate training at different degrees. With regards to research, he has focused his studies on derivatives of mineral medicinal waters, gases and peloids, clearly reflected in his publications some of which have been founded and directed by himself such as the Anales de Hidrología Médica (Annals of Medical Hydrology) and Balnea, a monograph series. He has promoted institutionalized relationships with relevant national and international agencies in Europe and Latin America which have brought the international recognition of the chair. This is directly related to his intense national association, he is the President of the Spanish Society of Thermal Peloids and of the Scientific Committee of the Research Institute of Water and Health, as well as internationally where he is an honored member of various associations and recognized by the French Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology with its Medal of Honor. He will be the 38th President of ISMH World Congress to be held in Lanjaron, Granada, this June 2012.
